Onam is the harvest festival celebrated in Kerela. It is the largest festival and lasts for 10 days. It incorporates all elements of Kerela culture and tradition. Intricate flower designs, banquet meals (served on banana leaves), snake boat races, Puli Kali (artistic play with people dressed like tigers/leopards) and dancing called kaikottikkali. This is the only festival that is celebrated by everyone not taking in to consideration religion, caste, social standing or gender.
Wishing everyone a Happy Onam!
