4th Anniversary

So Merlin and I celebrated our 4th anniversary this past week. There wasn't anything special since we both believe that it is important to celebrate our marriage and love each and every day. There was no card, no presents, but the affirmation that I had married the right man for me.

Marriage can be hard, but I can't say I have experienced that. I can count on one hand how many tiffs we have had, although that doesn't mean its always easy. I often say everyone gets tricked when they get married, not always tricked in a bad way but tricked nonetheless. Merlin and I spend a lot of time making sure we are connected, we talk and spend time together. Our life is simple as is our marriage. We don't let outside issues work against us and ensure that we respect each other.

We did share a lunch of Indian food that Merlin picked up and ate it in our apartment. My mom happened to be there since we spent the entire afternoon cleaning our kitchen. We somehow had little flour weevils move in to our flour, atta, idili rice, basmati rice and were running rampant. I keep a tidy place but apparently these little guys are easily transported in. From now on I'm keeping smaller packages of flours and rice and freezing it once I buy it to ensure I don't bring bugs in to our home.

We then spent our first day off together as our anniversary date. We went and had Chinese food, then packed up the dog and took her swimming at a local lake and then came home and watched a movie. A pleasant and cheap way to celebrate 4 incredible years of marriage.

This was a cute post. Enjoyed it very much. The key to success in a marriage is enough coconut buns for all. :)
